Real estate manager Hines has inaugurated aparto Diagonal Suites, a 22-story tower with 526 rooms located in the Porta Diagonal complex in Esplugues de Llobregat. The hotel was established to meet the hybrid demand from Sant Joan de Déu Hospital and the growing local biomedical and university hub.

The establishment, operated under the aparto brand, represents an evolution of the company’s original concept, adapting to the needs of a high-value professional and healthcare environment.
The hotel is located just a few meters from Sant Joan de Déu Hospital, with which it has signed a collaboration agreement to accommodate patients’ families and medical staff. As confirmed by Vanessa Gelado, Head of Hines Iberia, the asset will also benefit from the influence of the future Clínic Campus, the Vithas hospital, and the Deeplabslaboratories. This biomedical ecosystem ensures constant occupancy that complements traditional tourist accommodation, especially in a city with restrictions on the growth of new hotel beds.

The building, designed by the Batlleiroig architecture firm, stands out for its verticality, reaching nearly 100 meters in height.
The facilities combine the classic hospitality model with flex-living, offering common spaces that include a rooftop with a swimming pool, a gym, a cinema room, and coworking areas. All 526 rooms feature a private terrace, a distinctive attribute in the medium and long-stay segment. Regarding food and beverage services, the hotel’s ground floor already features brands such as Casa Carmen and Bonaparte. In terms of pricing, the establishment averages 72 euros per nightduring the regular season, with a projected occupancy rate of 60% for the summer.

With this opening, aparto now manages a total of 1,616 beds in the Catalan capital, out of more than 3,000 beds that the group has operational or under development across the Iberian Peninsula.
The Diagonal Suites tower has been designed under strict sustainability criteria to achieve BREEAM Excellent and Well Silver certifications, aligning with the requirements of modern institutional investors. In addition to healthcare guests, the hotel is strategically located near prestigious institutions such as IESE, ESADE, and the UPC campus, attracting postgraduate students and researchers who require flexible stays of several months in a state-of-the-art environment.
